Valentine's Day is celebrated annually on the 14th February in many countries around the world. It's a day in which you celebrate your loved ones. Traditionally, partners but now thanks to the TV show 'Parks and Recreation' and the introduction of 'Galentine's Day', it's now also a day to celebrate friendships too.The origins of St Valentine date all the way back to the 3rd century. St Valentine was said to be a clergyman and Roman martyr. However, rather peculiarly, the city of Glasgow has a particular affiliation to St Valentine. As in 1999, the bones of St Valentine's forearm were 'rediscovered' in the Church of Blessed John Duns Scotus in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. Leading to the city being referred to as the 'City of Love'.As mentioned above Valentine's Day isn't just for couples anymore. Sew Confident in Glasgow's West End is hosting a 'Crochet For Beginners Valentine's Edition' workshop on Saturday 10th October from 10.30am-1pm.

'Brèagha Blooms' is hosting three dried flower arranging masterclasses on Saturday 10th February at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. These workshops take place at the Barras market in Glasgow's East End.

4. Be Mesmerised At A Candlelight Concert
Plan an unforgettable Valentine's Day for you and your significant other by booking a candlelight concert, where you'll listen to a string quartet playing incredible music surrounded by hundreds of candlelights in some of Glasgow's most atmospheric venues.
There's different candlelight concerts to choose from throughout February including Han Zimmer's best works, a tribute to Abba, Pink Floyd, Taylor Swift and Coldplay.

On Saturday 10th February from 8-9pm, 'Ya Dancer Crew' are hosting a Silent Disco Love Parade. The event starts and finishes on Ashton Lane in Glasgow's West End, and will see you dancing up Byres Road.
Along the way, you'll be given your own set of headphones, which will play Disco, Pop, 80's, and Chart songs, all based around the theme of love.
This 1-hour event will involve a disco soul train, a dance lesson, games, group sing-alongs, dance circles and then, finally back to 'dance with a stranger' on Ashton Lane.

6. Laugh Along At A Live Blind Date Improv Show At The Stand Comedy Club
'Looking For Laughs' improv show is coming to the Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow's West End on Sunday 11th February.
The show is a mix between 'First Dates' and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' and focuses on a real blind date between two single strangers who'll meet on stage. However, before they can fall in love, a group of improvisers take to the stage to help act out the scenario.

Dockyard Social, in Glasgow's West End, is a warehouse food court with a great atmosphere and delicious drinks and street food from a wide range of vendors.
It's a must-visit in Glasgow anytime of the year, but for this Valentine's Day, it's especially worth a visit as it hosts a 'Valentines Weekend Drag Bingo' event.

It takes place on Saturday 17th February from 7-10.30pm. You'll spend the evening investigating clues, interviewing suspects, and determining who the real culprit is in this Valentine's Murder Mystery Edition!

On Saturday 17th February from 1-6pm, you and your girls can attend a 'Galentine's Day' event at Ingliston Estate & Country Club, which is a beautiful countryside hotel, located out in Bishopton about 20-minutes drive from Glasgow City Centre.
