2. Bring Your Pooch Along To 'Party Like A Cockapoo'
Pets count as family too so dress up your doodle, poodle or cockapoo for a Halloween Themed Party at Hogholm Farm Stables Indoor Arena on Saturday 7th October at 9.30am.
Hogholm Farm Stables Indoor Arena is a 30-minute drive from Aberdeen City Centre.
At this event, your dog will have 75 minutes off-lead play time in the huge indoor arena. There's also trick or treat on entry, lots of spooky photo opportunities, games, unlimited puppacinos and treats for your dog.
There's even a costume contest with fabulous prizes to be won, so make sure you dress your dog up in a spooktacular costume!

3. Become A Witch Or Wizard At The 'School Of Magic'
Fantasy Scotland is bringing its 'School Of Magic' to multiple locations around Aberdeenshire this October including:

4. Go Guising At 'This Is Halloween'
Crathes Castle is hosting their own 'This Is Halloween' event from Saturday 21st to Sunday 29th October.
Don your best fancy dress costume and get your jokes/performances ready as you go guising around the four characters themed houses. If you impress them enough, you will be rewarded with treats.
You can also stop by the witches hut, who will tell you tales of magical times and if you are lucky, she may even disclose her secret spells.
They also have marshmallow toasting and you'll even be able to take home a large pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

5. Learn Magic Tricks At The 'Crathes Wizard School'
For this Halloween, Crathes Castle, which is a 30-minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre, is running their very own Wizard School on Sunday 22nd October. There will two sessions of this event at 11.30am and 2pm.
This event will involve a mini magic show, followed by a teaching session to help your little ones learn how to be a witch or wizard. Your child will even receive their own magic wand, which they can take home.

6. Get Creative At The 'Spooktacular Workshops'
Aberdeen Arts Centre is hosting a range of 'Spooktacular Workshops' for children of all ages from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October.
Workshops for children aged between 3-5 are from 10am-12pm and for children aged 5-11 are from 10am-3pm. Sessions include drama, musical theatre, crafts, music, and more!
The themes for the workshops vary everyday and you can expect everything from unicorns and dragons, to Halloween monster mash bash.

7. Follow The Family Halloween Trail At Castle Fraser
About 30-minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre, you'll find the magnificent Castle Fraser. From Monday 23rd until Sunday 29th October, Castle Fraser is hosting its very own family-friendly Halloween Trail.
Their Halloween Trail will take you and your family wondering through the beautiful castle grounds and gardens and if completed, you'll be rewarded with a spooktacular prize. The trail is suitable for all ages and well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome.

8. Hear About Tales Of Witchcraft At The 'Oak Witch Scramble'
Taking place at Drum Castle, 30-minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre, is the 'Oak Witch Scramble' on Wednesday 25th October.
For this event, your family will help collect acorns to grow in the Old Wood Nursery. Along the way, you'll also discover what animals live at Drum Castle, learn about where witch spells came from, listen to the tales of Middlemiss the witch and then, make your witches broom.

9. Go On A Bandit Hunt At Drum Castle
There's an evil bandit on the loose, Patrick 'Gilderoy' McGregor, at Drum Castle this Halloween and your family can help find him! Bring your little investigators along to find clues and discover Gilderoy's hiding place.
This event is running from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th October. There is multiple time slots to choose from with the first entry at 9.30am, which is a relaxed session to allow for a less-crowded experience, and the last entry is at 3.30pm.

10. Get In The Halloween Spirit At The 'Northern Frights Halloween Festival'
On Friday 27th October, the Northern Frights Halloween Festival comes to Aden Country Park from 5-11pm.
Aden Country Park is a 40-minute drive from Aberdeen city centre.
Prepare for a night of fire performers, stilt walkers, dance performances, magicians, a haunted family outdoor trail, a haunted farm museum experience, and delicious food stalls.

11. Don Your Best Fancy Dress Costume For The 'Inverurie Monster Mash 2023'
Inverurie Town Hall is a 30-minute drive from Aberdeen City Centre and for this spooky season, it is the venue for the 'Halloween Monster Mash 2023', which takes place on Saturday 28th October from 6-11pm.
This family-friendly event is being ran by Northeast Promotions. It will get your whole family in the Halloween spirit as the town hall will be fully furnished with spooktacular decor and the evening will consist of Halloween-themed games and activities.
There will also be a DJ, prizes for best dressed adults and kids, and a sweetie bag for your little ones on departure.

12. Experience The Ultimate Halloween Night Out At 'Dreams Or Screams Festival Of Fear'
The 'Dreams Or Screams Festival Of Fear' takes place at The Den in Tannage Brae on Saturday 28th October from 6-10pm.
Tannage Brae is over an hour away from Aberdeen city centre, so a little bit out of the way, but it'll be a fun night out none-the-less!
This festival is going all-out and is sure to be a Halloween spectacular! There will be magic shows, fire jugglers, a horror trail, on-stage performances, an inflatable house of horrors, a horror movie screening, and so much more!

13. Prepare For An Evening Of Traditional Scottish Dancing At The 'Aurora's Halloween Ceilidh'
Stewarts Hall in Huntly, 50-minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre, is hosting 'Aurora's Halloween Ceilidh' on Saturday 28th October from 7.30pm.

14. Get Spooked On The 'House Of Dun Halloween Trail'
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October from 11am-3pm, the House of Dun, about 50-minutes from Aberdeen City Centre, is hosting their own Halloween Trail.
To start their Halloween Trail, you'll collect a trail sheet and make your way through their spooky woodland forest, answering questions along the way. Once finished, you'll return to the Courtyard to claim your prize.

15. Enter A Whimsical World At 'Trick Or Treat - The Cursed Carnival'
'Trick Or Treat - The Cursed Carnival' is a family-friendly horror event coming to the Aberdeen Altens Hotel on Sunday 29th October from 10am-5pm.
The haunted carnival will leave your whole family mesmerised as you enter a whimsical world of masterful magicians, zombie nerf shooting ranges, cursed clown zones, and other spooky attractions. You can even take part in enchanting Halloween-themed games to win prizes and treats.

16. Expect All The Classics At 'Artie's Singing Kettle Halloween Singalong'
The Singing Kettle are a Scottish entertainment group, who perform traditional children's songs and live theatre performances. If you've grew up in Scotland, then there is good chance that you've already heard of them.
This year, there is a Halloween special of the Singing Kettle at Aberdeen Arts Centre on Sunday 29th October at either 10.30am or 1pm.

18. It's Not All Horrors At 'Love Rara Not So Spooky Disco'
On Sunday 29th October from 12-2pm, Love Rara HQ in Aberdeen City Centre is hosting a 'Not So Spooky Disco' event. As the name suggests, it's more of a fun Halloween party, than spooky.

Jubilee Hall, 15-minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre, is hosting its own 'Haunted Mansion' for this Halloween. The event takes place on Tuesday 31st October from 5-9pm.
As you wonder through the haunted house, you'll find all sorts of spooky surprises hiding around every corner including ghosts, ghouls and other ghastly creatures. There will also be some Halloween treats including prizes for best dressed, candy and games.
This event is suitable for all ages, but since it is Halloween-themed, younger children may find it a bit scary.
