When driving through Morocco from Marrakech to Merzouga, we stayed in seven different hotels along the way – some were good and some were.. not so good! This hotel in Dades Valley was by far one of my favourites! First of all, it was beautiful, second, the staff were lovely and accommodating, third, it had a pool which was an absolute necessity in the 45-degree weather, and lastly, it was actually pretty affordable!
You're probably wondering what the best hotel in Dades Valley is called... let me introduce Riad Sahara Stars Dades. When I was planning my trip to Morocco, I changed the itinerary numerous times, and by the time it was finalised and I was looking for accommodation – this place popped up! We got pretty lucky as it was sold out for most dates in July but not for the one night we visited the Dades Valley area. So, if there's one takeaway from this blog post, make sure you book this beautiful accommodation way in advance as it doesn't have a huge amount of rooms and books up very quickly!

All You Need to Know About the Best Dades Valley Hotel
Location of Riad Sahara Stars Dades
Riad Sahara Stars Dades is located a short 5-minute drive from the city of Boumalne Dades. In the Google Maps below, I’ve highlighted the location of the accommodation in pink, and for comparison, all the yellow markers are the main attractions in Dades Valley. This is to allow you to see the location of the accommodation in relation to places you may want to go and visit.
My Honest Review of Riad Sahara Stars Dades
Just like Le Petit Kenzara in Marrakech, Riad Sahara Stars Dades also doesn't have a lot of reviews but the reviews it does have are very highly-rated and my review is going to be the same! This hotel is incredible and it's still a bit of a hidden gem, so if you're visiting Dades Valley in Morocco, you NEED to stay here!
Riad Sahara Stars Dades is located five minutes' drive away from the city of Boumalne Dades, which means it's really quiet at night and the beds are super comfy – so you're in for a really good night's stay here! When we arrived at Riad Sahara Stars Dades, we had just driven five hours from Marrakech and it was such a peaceful contrast to the chaos of the city. Riad Sahara Stars Dades is also a great option for those who are driving as it has about four private parking spaces at the front of the property.
From the moment we checked into Riad Sahara Stars Dades, everything was perfect. We were greeted with traditional Moroccan mint tea and a selection of snacks. The staff were so lovely and gave us great recommendations for places to visit on our drive throughout Morocco.
The rooms were absolutely stunning and I also can't even begin to tell you how welcome the aircon in the room and the cold pool were after experiencing temperatures of between 40-50 degrees while we were in Morocco. I can't imagine in the winter that the cold pool wouldn't be as welcome though.
For dinner, which cost about €15 extra, dining tables were beautifully set up on the grass next to the seating area. The dinner was a traditional Moroccan set menu of soup, salad, main course, and a dessert, and it was really good!
Being situated a bit away from the nearest city meant that there was less light pollution and therefore, Riad Sahara Stars Dades is an excellent spot for doing some stargazing. Sitting out in the seating area looking up at the stars with some green tea was the ideal end to the most perfect stay!
Riad Sahara Stars Dades was worth the trip to Dades Valley alone, so if you're planning a visit to the area – you won't regret staying at this beautiful accommodation!
How Much Did I Pay to Stay at Riad Sahara Stars Dades?
I stayed at Riad Sahara Stars Dades right in the middle of the peak summer season, from the 18th to the 19th of July. I originally booked the deluxe double room but was given keys to the deluxe quadruple room. To stay one night here only cost me £46, including city tax. This price included free parking and breakfast. There are a variety of different rooms that you can choose to stay in but the quadruple room that I got had a double bedroom and two singles so it would be perfect for a family or larger group.
